Centrally located in Chatswood, the Dougherty Apartments provide a safe, low-care dementia specific environment within which people can maintain their independence and links with the community. The Dougherty Apartments complex comprises a total of 138 residential units (13 low-care dementia specific, units, 27 low level care units and 98 resident and public funded self care residential units) together with associated support facilities, housed in a nine level building, with a further basement level for residents, staff and visitors car parking. It is a secure facility with intercoms in every unit connected to the ground floor entry via a visual display panel. 24-hour emergency care services are provided. Dougherty Apartments is jointly owned with Willoughby City Council and the NSW Department of Housing.
