The social support service provides a unique program for individuals under 65 years with dementia or suspected cognitive impairment, along with support to their families and carers. The program is designed to facilitate social participation, independence and quality of life through a holistic person centred approach. This is achieved through early intervention, monitoring of health and wellbeing, as well as a program that supports community participation and social interaction.
The service will be provided from a café style environment in partnership with the Terrigal Uniting Church, once per week, complimented by an individual outreach support. Other activities of the program will include guest speakers on topics of interest, health and wellbeing monitoring, along with family/carer support including the support for children.
