Volunteers are vital. By volunteering you can contribute to making your community a better place. A place where vulnerable people can receive more help and support. For UnitingCare Ageing your help enhances the services we provide to older people both in our residential facilities and out in the community.
You can give a very real source of human contact, providing friendship, a sense of value, connection, and bringing brightness and care into an older person's day.
By giving your time freely, you make our older people feel needed and special. There is an unlimited range of activities you can do. An important part of the UnitingCare Ageing Volunteering Program is to match the needs of our residents with the skills and interests of our volunteers. The Volunteer Program can accommodate whatever your interests are and whatever help you want to provide. Volunteering activities include; visiting and socialising, transporting, shopping, office support, reading, pastoral care, assisting activities officers, creating therapy programs for groups. The volunteering activity can be defined by you.
At UnitingCare Ageing we value the many ways in which our team of volunteers contribute to and enhance the care experience and well-being of our residents and clients in the community.
We have volunteers within our organisation that vary in age incredibly from 5 years to one volunteer in her nineties. We welcome and treat each volunteer as a part of our community and team. We have 210 volunteers in our Region and welcome any interest in becoming a volunteer. We are trying to make the application process as easy as possible, so if you are interested in becoming a volunteer no matter how much time you have to give please contact our Volunteer Coordinator or phone ph: 02 4723 9455 to organise an interview in your local area. Your help will enhance the whole care experience and well-being of our residents and clients.
