Regional Director's Message

The Western Region is the largest geographic region within UnitingCare Ageing and regular contact with people in rural and remote communities can be difficult. Technology helps us overcome the tyranny of distance and we aim to publish current and reliable information about the services available in the Western Region through the Internet.
Community needs are changing and as the population ages, the services in the Western Region must also change. We seek to engage with the wider community, to listen to clients and their families and to provide support for their needs through a range of services that provide choice and flexibility.
Our aim is to provide the best possible quality of life for individuals through programmes that promote wellness and independence in supportive environments. We deliver care to people in the accommodation of their choice encouraging active family, community and spiritual involvement and we respect the dignity of each person at all times. We seek to build relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
The staff of the Western Region are selected for their aptitude and skill in the delivery of Aged Care services and we support and develop our staff with education. Volunteers enhance our services with their time and their life experiences.
We will continue to embrace new technology and to explore opportunities to develop a range of accommodation options. We will expand our services into the growth areas of the south west sector of metropolitan Sydney and we will engage rural, ethnic and Indigenous communities in developing appropriate services to meet their needs.
The Western Region’s brand message Together Stronger encapsulates the commitment of the staff to work in partnership with communities to meet the needs of individuals and families in accordance with Christian principles.
