Elanora…A new inspired choice
Elanora is one of UnitingCare’s most recently developed communities and is currently accepting applications. Located in the heart of Shellharbour on the southern Illawarra coastline and close to the leading regional shopping centre, hospital and health services, Elanora offers low and high level permanent and respite care for up to 100 people.
The level of care provided is tailored to meet our residents’ changing needs as they grow older, meaning that they can continue living in the same place, even if the need for care and support increases.
Elanora offers a welcoming, enriching environment and is a place where residents, staff, family and friends alike feel a sense of belonging to a special community.

On behalf of the staff and volunteers, I would like to invite you to join the older people who have already chosen to come and live at Elanora.
Our focus is to provide a comfortable home where people can meet new friends, maintain old friendships, develop new interests, participate in a variety of activities and remain connected with the community.
Personal care and lifestyle activities are delivered by professional, qualified staff who are committed to meeting individual needs, promoting the enjoyment of life and being responsive to cultural, spiritual and religious needs through our INSPIRED CARE program of delivering person-centred care.
We encourage all people at Elanora to have input into the running of the service so that decisions are made which respect your choice and need for independence. We also encourage your involvement as a way of promoting and affirming inclusive, supportive relationships at Elanora. I look forward to meeting you.

- There are five community households with common neighbourhood spaces including lounge areas, dining and activity rooms, a library, cosy reading areas and balconies

Comprehensive security systems including closed circuit TVs and video surveillance, as well as special monitoring systems for people with dementia.
Fire Safety
Elanora is classified as a 9c building, meaning that it provides a high level of protection against fire and smoke as defined within the Building Code of Australia.
Specific safety measures include a fire sprinkler system, a fire hydrant system, smoke alarms, and a thermal detector system; all of which are supported with a preventative maintenance program.
