New service developments care for our future
UnitingCare Ageing North Coast Region is pleased to announce two exciting new residential service developments on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales in the highly sought after coastal townships of Port Macquarie and Nambucca Heads. These projects are now operational and open to welcoming new residents.
These Inspired Communities both offer low and high level care as well as specialised dementia care with Port Macquarie offering 110 places and Nambucca Heads offering 86 places. They are unique living community environments where services are delivered by holistic lifestyle support workers, on-site specialists and registered nursing staff.
UnitingCare Ageing has embraced a person–centred approach to care, support, leadership and management through implementation of its own INSPIRED CARE principles that will be a key feature of these communities. INSPIRED CARE is the expression of our relationship with one another. It is our commitment to deliver the very best care for each individual person while creating truly rewarding working lives for staff and volunteers.
Living spaces within these communities have been uniquely designed to include libraries, activity rooms, hairdressers, gyms, chapels, extensive lush gardens and cafes that seamlessly integrate with the external community. The Port Macquarie community will also feature an innovative Wellness Centre concept focusing on health and wellbeing.
When full occupied each site will employ more than 100 on-site staff and will create future volunteer and employment opportunities in career areas such as business, administration, nursing, hospitality and lifestyle support. Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people UnitingCare Ageing has been able to offer traineeships and sustainable employment, career development and training for Indigenous people.
